KStar Design was created by a mom (Kris) who had been hit by careless drivers - for a 3rd & 4th time in recent past. These collisions (& the 3 accidents that they subsequently caused!) left her with permanent injuries to the spine, Fibromyalgia, & a slew of secondary conditions (depression, Raynaud's, etc.) that developped as a result... When her benefits were wrongfully terminated in May 2009, she registered the business on her birthday, in the hopes of making some contribution to the family (and to her own self-worth). Though she knew she wouldn't make nearly the same income, she'd hoped she could at least help her family stay afloat & keep the dream house the family has recently bought (& seen built) after many years of working & saving after University. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. Today, Kris is a disabled single mom with no job, no reliable income, a borrowed house & car (i.e. nothing of her own), & 2 kids to support without a spouse around to help out. She dreams about someday having a regular, boring life where she can be a decent mother to her kids again. KStar Design has almost closed a couple of times now, and after the 5-year mark passed without any new sales (making a grand total of 2 orders via the site), it was slated to close for keeps.
